Privacy Statement

Last Update: June 2014

Thanks for using Fotobounce! Applied Recognition, creator of Fotobounce, is committed to protecting your privacy, while providing you with leading edge desktop, mobile, and web services. Here we describe how we collect, use and handle your information when you use our websites, software and services (“Services”).

What & Why
We collect and use the following information to provide, improve and protect our Products and Services:

Account. We collect and associate with your account, information like your name and email address.

Services. When you use our Services – like Fotobounce Cloud – we store, process and transmit your data (including information like your photos and contacts) and information related to them (including; face tags in photos, data signatures for faces, contacts tagged in photos and album membership). If you tag photos, we’ll store those contacts on our servers for you to use. If you tag faces, we’ll store those face signatures so that we can recognize those people in other photos. This will make it easy for you to do things like tag your photos, share your stuff, send emails, and invite others to use the Services. If you use our desktop product or mobile apps, all of this data is stored within your device and not on our Servers.

Usage. We collect information from and about the devices you use to access the Services. This includes things like IP addresses, the type of browser and device you use, and identifiers associated with your devices. Your devices (depending on their settings) may also transmit location information to the Services. The contacts, face tags, and face signatures are only used for performing actions on your photos based on your usage and under your control.

Cookies and other technologies. We use technologies like cookies to provide, improve, protect and promote our Services. For example, cookies help us with things like remembering your username for your next visit, understanding how you are interacting with our Services, and improving them based on that information. You can set your browser to not accept cookies, but this may limit your ability to use the Services.

App Stores. For our mobile apps, we may link your download of our app from an app store to your app usage activity via Google Analytics (for example) to improve and enhance our products. The data is captured anonymously. This allows us to make decisions related to what features of our app are being used and should be enhanced and what features we can turn off.

Demographic data. We may use services like Google Analytics which employ tracking cookies to monitor our website traffic to determine certain demographic and interest data from our visitors. This data is collected anonymously and is used to tailor the information, content and features of our website and products to our audience. You can opt out of this data collection via various methods – just search the web using the terms “Google Analytics Opt-out”.
