Basics of Operation

Current version is 4.0.  Make sure you uninstall any previous versions before installing the latest or Adobe AIR will complain.  You won't lose any data by uninstalling.
Fotobounce consists of two applications that talk to each other. Fotobounce.exe is the Adobe AIR application that delivers the user interface. FBEngine.exe is the core application that scans images for faces, calculates face signatures, and makes suggestions for matches. They talk together via a TCP/IP connection – sort of like a browser talking to web server.
Fotobounce scans the following image types: PNG, JPG(JPEG) and TIFF

Tagging Data

The metadata (names, tags, albums, etc.) are stored in a folder called Fotobounce Data. This folder is located at the root of your Fotobounce library. If you instructed Fotobounce to create a library in C:\Photos – then the Fotobounce Data folder will be found in that folder.
If you export your photos to a folder outside the Fotobounce library then we append the tagging info to the photo in Adobe XMP format.  This can be read by Windows and other programs.
We don't read existing Picasa or Windows Photo Gallery face tags.  This might be a feature of a future release.  Let us know if you are interested in this feature.

All Fotobounce data is maintained locally.  We have servers that facilitate sharing between Fotobounce users - those servers only keep temporary data to enable the transfer of information.
